PAACET Example Achievements Under Goal #5:

5.1  PAACET SAVES THE LIFE OF A FEMALE PRISONER:  On 03^rd October, 2019, the Africa Regional Director of PAACET, Mr. Charles Lahai paid half of the fine levied on a female prisoner who also had her 3-year-old daughter in prison.  By implication, the child was also a prisoner since her mother was incarcerated.  This payment led to the mother and daughter’s release after being incarcerated and held in prison for several months before being fined a total sum of One Million Leones or fulfil a one-year jail sentence.  The other half of the fine was paid by a women’s advocacy organisation, ADVOCAID.  This is only one among several challenges faced by female inmates.  PAACET came in contact with the prison’s management through an organisation called Prisons Watch.  Prisons Watch is desirous to build a partnership with PAACET.
